Our organization is seeking an individual who will serve as Advertising Manager of a dynamic, start up Cannabis Quarterly Magazine. Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are a few characteristics that will identify the successful candidate. Experience in the magazine and publishing industry is a must. This is a start up magazine with endless opportunities for the qualified individual.
SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will have experience in magazine ad placement, print and social media. This webb-savvy and innovative candidate has a passion for interactive media and all social media outlets such as websites, social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, blogs, message boards, photo/video sites, etc. This individual is responsible for extending our presence through relationships with advertising, print, and social networking sites, as well as recommending new opportunities for our company to consider. In addition to advertising, this person will also coordinate the purchasing of spot ads and print space in newspapers and magazines.
The well-rounded candidate possesses advanced decision-making skills and will frequently monitor the company’s online and print presence.
OTHER DUTIES:
• Stays up to date on key market and industry trends affecting company business segments
• Understands target audience, the company’s business needs, retail accounts, marketing and sales goals and incorporates this knowledge into advertising strategy development
• Initiate creative advertising ideas to further build the business
• Prioritizes work and provides projects status reports as requested by manager
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experienced in magazine ad placement, print ad layout and placement, and social media
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have exemplary time management/organizational skills
• Proven ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to communicate well with senior-level executives at retail companies
• Demonstrate high degree of tact, diplomacy, judgment and discretion
• Self motivated and has the ability to function with a high degree of independence
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands; be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
• Dependability – the individual is consistently completing projects in a timely fashion
• Experience in MS Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to travel to locations as needed, approximately 5% travel
