mycirQle is a news curation outlet covering the health, energy, and education sectors. We find the most important news in each sector and deliver it to a knowledgeable, largely professional audience on a personalizable social news platform.

About you:
Do you have a sharp eye for a good story? Are you an education news nut with deep knowledge of education spanning from policy to technology and K-12 to Higher Ed? Do you have experience writing and editing in a fast-paced online news environment? Have you always wanted to work at a start-up?

We are a small team (2 founders and a handful of staff) and we are growing rapidly. Our ideal candidate is as passionate about education as they are the future of digital journalism. We seek an innovator who can think strategically about news coverage, content delivery, and how to nurture an audience on the social web. This is your chance to join a fast-moving, funded, growth-phase start-up and leave your mark.

The ideal candidate can identify the most important education news on a daily basis, write roundups and analysis pieces, edit freelance perspectives, and represent mycirQle as social media thought leader. A deep knowledge of the issues is a must. Experience covering or working in the field, knowledge of online publishing tools, and familiarity with social media are pluses.

The position is initially part-time with a paid stipend. It will grow with the company into a full-time paid position with benefits. We are located in San Francisco and New York, but you can live wherever you want. If you want to move to SF or NY down the line, there will be options for mobility. We want you to grow in this position and look forward to seeing all your creativity and talent come to light
