Program Coordinator (Sanger/ Hanford)

  • Looking for 1 or 2 PART-TIME people to organize, plan and run programs for youth and adults at two low-income apartment complexes – one in Hanford and one in Sanger. A Program Coordinator will work with residents to develop the following programs, based on the needs and interests of the residents:
     

     
    1. After School Program for children in grades K – 6: include educational activities, homework assistance, physical movement, craft, community service/awareness, etc.
     

     
    2. Computer Lab: geared to adults; answer questions on using computers to include internet searches.
     

     
    3. Adult Classes: can include parenting, budgeting/household expenses, employment assistance, nutrition, etc. The Coordinator can either run these classes or arrange for volunteer providers to teach these.
     

     
    4. Services Information: matching residents to needed services within the community, including employment assistance.
     

     

     
    Requirements: independent and able to work well without direct supervision; experience working with children and implementing programs; must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and use of internet; able to successfully pass background screening and reference check.
     

     
    Degree or coursework in recreation, education, social work or similar preferred.
     

     

     
    This position is part-time only. Preference is to hire one person to work both properties, in which case position is 25-30 hours per week. May be split between two people, each working one property with 15-20 hours per week at Hanford property and 10 hours each week at Sanger property.
