    PROGRAM DIRECTOR — Cal-SOAP

    POSITION: Program Director — Full-time, 12 month position for the Central Valley California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP). This position will be located at Tranquillity High School in Tranquillity, CA.
    PROGRAM
    DESCRIPTION: The Central Valley California Student Opportunity & Access Program (Cal-SOAP) is designed to increase post-secondary educational access to low income, elementary and secondary school students. Services provided by the program include tutoring, in math, English, and science, mentoring and advising on academic preparation and college admission/ enrollment requirements, assist students and parents with college admission, SAT/ACT, financial aid, and scholarship applications, workshops, and visits to colleges and universities.
    DUTIES &
    RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the Central Valley Cal-SOAP Consortium through its Consortium Chair and the CalSOAP Project Director Supervisor, the Program Director serves as the primary contact for the program with the responsibility of providing leadership, direction, administration, planning and oversight of day-to-day and overall functioning of the program. Typical duties include but are not limited to: planning and coordinating program activities such as field trips, workshops, tutoring, academic advising, higher education seminars; hiring, training, and supervising student tutors, advisors, and interns; maintaining a student database; managing program budget; and developing procedures for delivery of services. Maintain collaborative relationships with all consortium members, including, school counselors and administration; attend state-wide Cal-SOAP Advisory meetings; and following all Cal-SOAP contractual guidelines and procedures established by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). Evaluate program services; write year-end reports and reapplication proposals as required by the California Student Aid Commission. Supervise an office manager, a student services coordinator, and 12-15 student employees.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required, Master’s degree preferred. Minimum two years management experience in student services program or related field (Master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience). Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
    KNOWLEDGE &
    ABILITES: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, successful experience in development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, demonstrated leadership in directing day-to-day work procedures and development of new initiatives, administrative skills in budget development and fiscal management, knowledge of computer applications and software such as, Microsoft, excel, PowerPoint, and social media, ability to analyze problems and apply good judgment in proposing or implementing solutions, excellent writing skills, and experience in working with socio-economic, and ethnically and culturally diverse populations. Must be able to accommodate flexible work hours including some evenings and weekends. Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a good driving record.

    SALARY: $ 4,200 — 4,535, per/mo — salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401 (k), vacation and holiday pay.
