ABC Owned Television Group is looking for a Broadcast & IT Systems Manager for its Live Well Network and ABC OTV Central ingest service.
Live Well Network, the Group’s broadcast, online and wireless service for emerging digital channels in local markets offers 18 weekly half-hour shows that air 24 hours a day. The high definition network’s original programming, focusing on lifestyle topics such as health, cooking, travel and fashion, is largely produced at ABC owned stations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for systems including television broadcast servers which receive; process and deliver file based program and commercial content for 35+ Live Well Network affiliates and the eight owned television stations. The Live Well Network system includes multi-channel broadcast playout servers feeding a multicast WAN and satellite uplink. A network operations center is located in Fresno, California and a remotely-operated play out system in New York City.Responsibilities:
The Broadcast & IT Systems Manager will:
- Systems manager will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s LAN and WAN networks
- Maintain the health and reliability of the LW Network and Central Ingest systems by monitoring, diagnosing and resolving events that adversely impact the Live Well Network and the ABC Owned Television station group operations.
- Install and configure new television broadcast, computer and IT related equipment.
- Perform regular updates and maintenance to system equipment.
- Track, prioritize and document requests for Service.
- Implement software and hardware to maintain and improve the processing and delivery of television broadcast content.
- Document system configuration and modificationsPosition often requires evening and weekend availability. Light travel will also be required at times.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience with Cisco Routers/ SwitchesPreferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience with responsibilities for broadcast equipment and information technology
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Servers
- Expertise in broadcast industry practice, concepts and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose local /remote software and hardware problems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot multifaceted problems in a systematic manner.
- Strong proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP. . .
- Understanding of SNMP, NTP, TCP/IP, and Windows Systems.
- Knowledge of Cisco’s product linesRequired Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT and/or television broadcast engineering.Additional Information:
