Staff Geologist / Engineer / Scientist (Fresno)

    Responsibilities
    • Field work, including drilling oversight, geologic logging, well construction, soil and groundwater sampling, and general site inspections
    • Oversight of fieldwork by subcontractors
    • Data management and evaluation and report preparation
    • Periodic travel locally and out of area, as necessary
    • Technical writing including preparation of draft text, tables, and figures

    Accountabilities
    • Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science/engineering, soil science, or civil engineering; Master’s degree preferred
    • For engineering candidates, Engineer-In-Training is preferred
    • One to three years of related experience
    • Working knowledge of the Unified Soil Classification System
    • Knowledge of general geologic concepts including stratigraphy and hydrochemistry
    • Soil and groundwater investigation and sample skills
    • Environmental permitting/regulatory compliance experience a plus
    • Hands-on use of field equipment
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors and to be a capable project and task manager
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience
    • Familiarity with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
    • Experience using AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS preferred
    • OSHA Hazwoper training is preferred
    • Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record
